Liv AWOL SPOK'D U23

City & Docklands are proud to support Liv AWOL SPOK’D U23 women’s cycling team competing at elite level in the UK and Europe.

Over the last two weeks the team has been riding in the Tour Series – a criterium of 7 races held in town centres around the country.

This year the race has gone from Redditch to Motherwell to Aberdeen and back to Durham, across to Birkenhead and then down to Salisbury before finishing at Brooklands in Surrey.

The Tour Series is one of the premier racing events in the UK for women and is one of the few televised cycle races in the UK. The team are the youngest in the competition with their eldest rider being 21 with several riders still being at school. The Liv AWOL SPOK”D team comprises 10 u23 riders , 5 juniors (under 18) and 3 youth development riders, most hailing from Southern England together with riders from as far away as North Yorkshire and Jersey.

This year, in addition to riding the main UK races, the team has ridden UCI (the highest level of international competition) races in the Netherlands - the Juniors actually beating several national teams in a round of the Nations cup.

Commenting on the involvement with City & Docklands, the team says: “The opportunity to partner with AWOL/City & Docklands is a huge one for us, as a developer of modern living space in a rapidly growing sector which is aimed at young people with an active lifestyle, which has similar values to a team focused on helping young women make the most of their ability in a fast growing and dynamic sport. We are delighted to have their support and involvement.”
